The first really good spring migration day I've experienced, and it was a cracker! 15 species of wood warbler, with a good supporting cast. Best bird was probably the Hooded Warbler at the Triplet Bridge west of The Ramble, closely followed by the Bay-breasted Warbler at the Upper Lobe..
Warblers seen:
Ovenbird (1)
Northern Waterthrush (2)
Black-and-white Warbler (5)
Common Yellowthroat (4)
Hooded Warbler (1)
American Redstart (1)
Cape May Warbler (1)
Magnolia Warbler (5)
Bay-breasted Warbler (1)
Blackburnian Warbler (1)
Yellow Warbler (1)
Black-throated Blue Warbler (2)
Palm Warbler (2)
Yellow-rumped Warbler (many)
Black-throated Green Warbler (1)
Other migrants included 3 Scarlet Tanagers, 3 Baltimore Orioles, 1 Rose-breasted Grosbeak, 1 Great-crested Flycatcher and many Blue-headed Vireo.
Black-and-white Warblers are everywhere at the moment.
Hooded Warbler, showed very well at the Triplet Bridge just west of The Ramble.
Cape May Warbler, great views, also at the Triplet Bridge.
Northern Waterthrush. Compared to the Louisiana from last week this has; more heavily marked underparts, which are washed yellow, less bright legs. In addition the gait was quite different, much more of a wagtail-like 'bob' than the sashaying Louisiana.
Magnolia Warbler. Lots today.
Great Crested Flycatcher.
Male Scarlet Tanager.
Ive rather fallen for the Magnolia Warbler
